Make Up Artists

The tip of the top! These Wellington based mobile make-up artists travel to Martinborough, Otaki, and all other other popular NZ wedding destinations. It's important to pick an artist that not only makes you look beautiful, but makes you feel relaxed on the day.  I work with Kellie and Jaymie quite often, check out more about them below:

Kellie Michelle Makeup

I first met Kellie when she designed special effects make up for me to look like I was a disturbed patient, trapped in a mental asylum for a show I was performing in. I then asked her to do my wedding make up. SO ya know, pretty multi talented! We have been working together for the past few years and I can honestly say she is perfection and a winner of an addition to your morning prep team! Here is what Kellie had to say:

What is your best piece of advice you give to your brides when they are looking up wedding inspo?

When looking for your makeup inspiration make sure to look into your own facial features first, save images of girls with similar features! Have a think of the colours you like to wear usually, and if you want to be bolder on the lip or eye or both!
Your makeup artist will always guide you and offer suggestions but it’s great to do a bit of research first. ALWAYS have a trial!
Not only does this let you test the look and make changes but it means for a flawless run on the big day!"

What brands are in your kit?

"MAC, Bobbi brown, Nars, Stilla Ardell."

Favourite Drink?

"Classic Margarita ;)"

Jaymie Jarvis Make Up Artist

I first met Jaymie when she was my back up dancer when I was performing as Daisy Duke. Yep, cowboy boots and all. We have now spent years creating magic together in the beauty world. We work to each others pace exactly so everything runs smoothly and looks dreamy. Might need to convince her to get those cowboy boots on again. Here is what Jaymie had to say:

What is your best piece of advice you give to your brides when they are looking up wedding inspo?

"My best piece of advice is that less is more in my opinion! You don’t have to choose a look that is over the top and more importantly you don’t have to choose something that different to what you would usually do with your makeup. Stick to colours that you love and know look good on you. You don’t want to look back at your wedding photos in 20 years time and not look like you"

What brands are in your kit?

"I stock all different brands in my kit! I don’t believe in sticking to one brand as I have found really great products that are affordable that I now can’t live without, but also have some high end products as well. Rimmel and ELF are a couple of my favourite cheaper brands and then on the other hand I do love MAC primers and lippies"

Favourite Drink?

"My favourite drink is a black coffee before a massive bridal party to keep me going!"
