Celebrants

The person who is right up the front of the aisle with you, sharing one of your most important life moments, needs to be calm, confident and charming. I believe I have narrowed down Wellington's two top celebrants to fit that description. Both are incredible story tellers, strong speakers and genuine sweethearts. They are in it for LOVE, and all types of love!

Miranda - Marry All The People

Miranda is the type of person who has infectious energy, truck loads of positivity and alllll the personality. She is there for all the laughs and all the loves. Miranda will "Marry All The People" because she is a strong believer in that LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE!

What is some advice you have for your couples?
"Your wedding is just one day in your chapter of love and life and it's a fantastic day to celebrate your community, big or small. Remember, Your day, your way! The ceremony sets the tone for the day so surround yourself with vendors who know what they are doing and put you at ease. "

What is the most important thing for a celebrant to bring to a wedding (not physically!) ?
"Relatability( is that even a word?? ha!)
Need to make the couple feel at ease and confident that you have everything under control"

Julie O'Brien

Julie will make you laugh, feel completely calm and full of excitement all at once. Julie comes from a strong performing arts background so being front a centre is a strong point of hers. She will confidently make your ceremony run smoothly. What an absolute hoot!

What is some advice you have for your couples?
"Couples feel pressure to keep everyone happy, so I’d like to talk through all of the options as well, but remind them that it’s their day and it’s my job to make sure they get everything they want. Also letting the guests know that this is a celebration and that it’s okay to laugh, cry and enjoy the day right from the start. People tend to be unsure about how to react and often times think of the ceremony as a solemn affair. My job is to let them know that it’s okay to feel the joy!"

What is the most important thing for a celebrant to bring to a wedding (not physically!) ?
"It’s really important to know your couple. As a celebrant you’re doing the most important job, but unless they’re friends, you’re the one who knows them the least. In my initial meeting, I ask a lot of questions about how they met, the proposal, what their relationship is like, words to describe each other etc. Having a really good understanding of what they want for their ceremony is fundamental. "

Where is the best place to find wedding vow inspo?

"I’m getting married myself in February 2020 so I’m scouring heaps of websites and magazines. I particularly like Mr and Mrs, which is the official magazine for the Wellington wedding show. I follow lots on Instagram. But of course the best inspiration for the gorgeous couples themselves."

Favourite Drink?

"My favourite drink is a fruity Marlborough Savvy, or a long tall G and T (loving Martinborough’s Reid + Reid Natuve Gin atm), but I’m doing dry July, so Hopt Soda (elderberry and herb is my fav) is my cocktail hour go to."
